Rumah ini sebenarnya terletak di Batu 30 1/4 Kota Lama Kiri,dekat Rumah Kanak2 Sultan Abd.Aziz.Sekitar 1973 – 1983 saya pernah tinggal di belakang rumah ini.Ketika itu berumur antara 13 hingga 23tahun.Penghuninya ketika itu ialah seorang nenek tua yang agak uzur.Selepas nenek itu meninggal rumah itu terbiar selama beberapa tahun sehinggalah Jabatan Arkib Negara(maaf kalau silap)mengambil inisiatif untuk perbaiki rumah tersebut dengan menggantikan atap,dinding dan memperbaiki semua komponan yang ada dalam rumah.
Apabila telah siap diperbaiki rumah tersebut kelihatan cantik,kemas dan dijadikan tempat singgahan pelancung2 dalam dan luar negara.
Saya terkenang semasa kecil,di situlah tempat saya bermain main dengan anak2 jiran yang tinggal berhampiran rumah tersebut.Di halaman rumah itu terdapat pokok jambu bol yang besar,bila musim bunga tiba halaman rumah penuh dengan bunga2 seperti permaidani.Buahnya dapat juga dimakan.
Ayah saya mempunyai kereta Austin A40 dan oleh kerana keretanya tak dapat masuk hingga ke rumah saya di belakang kerana ketiadaan jalan maka ayah saya menumpangkan keretanya untuk diletakkan di bawah rumah tersebut.Pernah di akhir tahun 1973 banjir besar berlaku di K.Kangsar dan rumah saya tenggelam pada paras lantai sahaja dan bernasib baik rumah kutai ini tercecah air hanya pada paras buku lali sahaja.
Inilah kenangan lama saya dengan rumah ini dan saya berasa sedih tiada usaha2 untuk memperbaiki lagi keadaan rumah tersebut.
