KUALA LUMPUR 17 Nov. – Isteri Perdana Menteri, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor berharap dapat menyampaikan hasrat untuk mengadakan pertunjukan fesyen busana Muslim kepada Wanita Pertama Amerika Syarikat (AS), Michelle Obama.
Beliau berkata, hasratnya itu boleh dijayakan jika terdapat majlis pertemuan membabitkan isteri-isteri pemimpin dari seluruh dunia semasa berlangsungnya Persidangan Nuklear di Washington, April tahun depan.
Beliau dimaklumkan bahawa Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak telah dijemput oleh Presiden AS, Barack Obama untuk hadir ke persidangan berkenaan.
“Saya berharap dapat pergi bersama dan menyampaikan niat untuk membawa rekaan busana Muslim ini ke AS dan negara-negara barat lain.
“Dengan cara itu kita berharap negara-negara berkenaan dapat memahami fesyen dunia Islam yang sebenarnya,” kata beliau kepada pemberita selepas melancarkan Festival Fesyen Islam (IFF) di sebuah hotel di sini hari ini.
IFF yang dijadual berlangsung mulai 23 hingga 25 November ini menampilkan koleksi busana yang mempunyai unsur-unsur Timur Tengah sebagai tema pertunjukan.
Lebih 30 pereka fesyen dari Indonesia, Jordan, Emiriah Arab Bersatu (UAE), Arab Saudi, Maghribi, Itali, United Kingdom (UK) dan Malaysia terlibat dengan IFF kali ini.
Turut hadir isteri Raja Puan Muda Perak, Raja Nor Mahani Raja Shahar Shah dan pengasas serta Pengerusi IFF, Datuk Raja Rezza Shah.
Rosmah berkata, IFF juga akan menganjurkan pertunjukan fesyen khas pada hari akhir acara iaitu 25 November ini untuk mengumpul dana membantu mangsa gempa bumi di Padang, Indonesia.
Beliau berharap pihaknya dapat mengumpul dana sebanyak RM50,000 untuk membantu mangsa gempa bumi berkenaan.
“Saya harap orang ramai tampil menyaksikan pertunjukan tersebut yang dikenakan bayaran RM80 dan RM120 seorang,” jelasnya.

Quick info, Mrs World is a competition for married women. This year, it will be in Vietnam on 22nd November 2009.
She is not new in beauty queen competition, she represents Malaysia in Miss World 1995 and Miss Universe 1997. Luck is not on her side on both pageants. Let’s hope she at least get something this time around.
